I agree with your point. Like the old English saying …”youre nice and hated for it”. However, I guy that marries a women that is half his age, is only looking for trouble. I would have told Dave to get his act together and find himself a woman within five years of his age.

Neither Dave nor Alexandra were any sort of prize. She was totally scamming him and he was obviously hanging on in the hopes of sex, which I’m sure he got some of. Ugh…that just put a terrible visual in my mind.

The story of Dave and Alexandra is a clip from the show and would you really expect any girl to move to rural England/Wales from a city to a guy who goes to his local all the time to get drunk and lives in poor conditions.
The other clip is from a Channel Four show about a tour to Ukraine and the company behind it were a Foreign Affair – pity the clip did not show some of the other men who traveled- I bait scammers but those guys were TOADS!

he’s a textile worker and she got a uni degree. they have no common language. dave’s home looks basically like what you would expect a home of a guy being alone would look like. and it’s certainly not inviting women. but back to this “couple”; i think it’s an illusion that this thing could have worked anyway…
Most of these women are just desperate for a better life. Although I felt bad for the second man in this video, a lot men that go on these mail-order bride trips are just in it for the sex, it’s almost like a legal prostitution loophole. Some even send their brides back to Russia if the women don’t meet their expectations.P.S.-If you can’t make a relationship work with someone that shares a common language and culture, you’re probably not going to find love overseas.
